The Alzies, the young committee which supports The Alzheimer's Association Houston & Southeast Texas Chapter, established Blondes vs. Brunettes Powder Puff Football Game in 2006 with the goal of increasing awareness and support of Alzheimer's disease in the Houston area. In just three short years over $140,000 has been raised by the Houston event alone, and this fun and exciting event has spread to Alzheimer's chapters in 10 cities nationwide. This year, over 100 of Houston's finest young professionals and philanthropists will be playing, coaching, refereeing, volunteering and raising money to tackle Alzheimer's disease.
